Welcome to a revisit of our 6 year old garden in Brighton.
.
Our client loves this self sustaining eco system, rainwater travels down the down pipe into the Billabong, water then sustains the vertical garden. Any surplus water goes to the rainwater tank saving it for future use.

Today is the launch at the Australian War Memorial of 62,000 handcrafted Poppies by the 55,000 volunteers of the 5000 Poppies project.

This incredible, poignant and beautiful display commemorates every Australian Soldier who died during WW1 and has been installed on the lead up to the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day.

Lynn Berry and Margaret Knight set out in 2013 to stitch 120 poppies to be laid at the Shrine of Remembrance as a tribute to their fathers who fought during WWII, and that is where this story began. It has been an absolute honour for the Phillip Johnson team and my family to be part of this beautiful project, thank you Lynn and Margaret for the opportunity over the last few years.

This coming weekend we start planting out 62,000 crocheted and knitted Poppies along with the 5000 Poppies Project, in memory and in total gratitude to all the brave people who have fought for our freedom.

One of those brave people was my great-grandfather Frederick Richard Johnson. On this very weekend 100 years ago Frederick was mortally wounded, I will definitely be planting a poppy in honour of this braveman and every brave person who stood by his side during WW1.

If you want to discover more on this story checkout the link attached from the Australian War Memorial. Honour their spirit.
